ViewSonic VNB100 Netbook in Hot Pink!

ViewSonic recently announced a new netbook model, VNB100, which will be available in hot pink color. The feature will be pretty similar to most other netbooks out there: a 10.2-inch screen with 1024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Atom N270 Processor, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB HDD, a 1.3MP webcam, a memory card reader, WiFi, 3 USB 2.0 ports and an ExpressCard 34 slot.


The ViewSonic VNB100 is expected to be released at the end of July in Asia-Pacific, and later this year in Europe for ￡256. Check out the hands-on video for the hot pink VNB100 netbook, which were taken by netbooknews.com straight from the press conference itself.

Toshiba NB200 Is Now Available In Pink

For UK folks, Toshiba has recently released 2 new colors for the NB200 netbook: blue and pink!




The Toshiba NB200 is the UK and other Europe countries version of NB205. In fact, it was announced earlier than NB205 in April this year. It was however available only in white, black, and brown colors when it's first launched. Now that the pink NB200 is released, it's time for those of you who love pink notebook to take this lappie into consideration!

The specs for the new colored NB200 still remain the same: 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive.

Paint The New MacBook Pro In Pink With Colorware

Apple MacBook is not available in pink. The only way to get yourself a pink Macbook is either by applying pink laptop skin/case on your Macbook, or send it to Colorware for recoloring. And if you are wondering if the recoloring service of Colorware covers all Macbook models, they do.. even the latest MacBook Pro 2nd gens!


The company recently updated their website to include the re-coloring service for the new MacBook Pro 2nd generation, which includes all 3 sizes: 13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch. Asus Eee PC 1008HA Review Roundup

Now that the Asus Eee PC 1008HA is made available in pink (currently available in Amazon.com for $417), I have made some analysis on this netbook. Below are the summary of good and bad for this netbook after reading several reviews across the web.


Asus Eee PC 1008HA is one of the thinnest 10-inch netbook around. It has a 10.1-inch LED Backlight WSVGA Screen with 1024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Atom N270/ N280 CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 10GB complimentary online Eee Storage, and a battery that last for 6 hours usage. The most outstanding features of this netbook is its slim and stylish design. It's just 1-inch thick and weight only 2.2 pounds. And under such thin and light design, this netbook still maintain a decent performance that's comparable to other bigger-size netbook. While the spec claims that the battery can last for 6 hours, most reviews that have done stress test on the battery are seeing 4 to 5 hours of battery life, which is still consider good.

The biggest drawback of the Eee PC 1008HA is however the non user replaceable battery -- you couldn't change to a backup battery yourself when the original one run flat. This could be a big disadvantage for those who need to travel long distance. And another drawback would be the price which is more expensive than most other competing nebooks.

Here are the summary pros and cons for the Eee PC 1008HA:

Pros

• Extremely thin, light design
• Spacious keyboard
• Speedy hard drive
• More than five hours of battery lif
  

Cons

• More expensive than competing netbooks
• Battery not user replaceable

It was just a few days ago when Sony announces the VAIO W series netbook, and it's already available for pre-order on Amazon.com now.

For $499.99, the pink Sony VAIO W netbook will come with the following specs:

• 10.1 LCD w/ XBRITE-ECO technology & LED backlight, Integrated MOTION EYE camera & microphone
• 1.66GHz Intel N280 Atom Processor
• 1GB of RAM
• 160GB HDD

Asus Eee PC 1008HA and 1005HA Now In Pink Color

Just a few days ago, we reported that the Asus Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA will be available in Italy in pink and several other colors.. and today we found that Amazon.com (U.S.) is already taking orders for both Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA that are shaded in pink!


The Asus Eee PC 1008HA Seashell is one of the thinnest 10-inch netbook among the Eee PC series. It's just 1-inch thick, and the design is extremely stylish and lightweight. Amazon.com has already start shipping the pearl pink version of Eee PC 1008HA for $417. It will comes with a 10.1-inch WSVGA 1024x600 Screen, 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 Processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB SATA Hard Drive, and Windows XP Home edition.


While the Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell is equally stylish in terms of design, it's slightly thicker than the Eee PC 1008HA, but has replaceable battery with longer battery life. The pink version of Eee PC 1005HA is not yet available at this time, but Amazon.com is already taking pre-order. At a price of $349.99, you will get a stylish pink netbook with 10.1-inch LCD Display with 1024x600 resolution, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM), and Windows XP Home Operating System.

HP Mini 110 XP Edition Now Available In Pink

New pink netbooks keep coming out recently. HP Mini 110 XP Edition which was introduced just about a month ago is now available in pink. Not only the netbook lid combines pink with a stylish imprint, the keyboard will also be shaded in pink which make the whole netbook looks really attractive.




The HP Mini 110 XP edition is a 10-inch screen netbook with a configurable Intel Atom 270 or 280 CPU, 1GB RAM, and a choice of either a 32GB solid state drive or a 160GB hard drive. The pink colored HP Mini 110 XP edition is now available on HP official store with a starting price of $329.99. Note that the pink version of this netbook will cost extra $20 compared to the black version.

Sony To Release VAIO W Netbook - Available In Pink

Here's another upcoming pink netbook - the Sony VAIO W. It will be the first netbook model from Sony, and will come with the following specs:

• 10.1-inch display with 1366×768 resolution
• 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU
• 1GB RAM
• 160GB HDD
• 0.3 MP webcam
• GMA 950/W-LAN
• Bluetooth

Toshiba NB205 Review Roundup

Toshiba finally released it's first netbook, the Mini NB205 to the U.S. market. It might be a little late now, but being late is not always a bad thing. It gives Toshiba the opportunity to watch and takes in all the buzz being generated in the netbook market and glean from all the rants about these devices ways to improve upon its own product. And we are so glad that Toshiba did offer a posh pink color option which gives us another great choice of pink netbook that's not only attractive design, but also has everything we’d recommend in a netbook.


The pink Toshiba NB205 netbook is currently available on Amazon.com for $399. In terms of internal parts, it is similar to most of other netbooks in today's market. Here's the rundown of the NB205's specs and features:

• 10.1-inch diagonal widescreen TruBrite backlit LED display (WSVGA)
• Intel Atom N280 processor (1.66GHz)
• 1GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, upgradeable to 2GB
• Spacious Storage with a 160GB HDD2
• TOSHIBA Hard Drive Impact Sensor
• 6-cell battery delivering up to 9 hours of productivity
• 802.11 b/g wireless and 10/100 Ethernet
• Bluetooth V2.1 + EDR

Laptop Magazine, CNet, and PC Mag have done their respective reviews on the Toshiba NB205 netbook, and all of them gives pretty good rating to this machine. Both Laptop Magazine and PC Mag rated it 4.5 out of 5 and given it an 'Editor's Choice' status. CNet on the other hand is a little unsatisfied with bulky battery and the wimpy audio, giving it a rating of 3.5 out of 5, but still recommend it as one of the netbook that's worth considering.

In terms of system performance, the Toshiba NB205 performs pretty well. Based on all three reviews, they had no problems streaming video at full screen or working with several applications simultaneously. Here are the summary of good and bad of Toshiba NB205:

Good:

• Unique and stylish design: Available in Posh pink as well as a few other colors, the Toshiba NB205 has a textured lid that's fingerprint-resistant. Combined with an elegant, shiny bronze hinge (with a glowing power button at the center), it nicely matches the silver finish on the bottom deck for an overall professional look.
• Comfortable keyboard and large touchpad: The metal, island style, full-size keyboard is sturdy and comfortable. Both Laptop Magazine and CNet comment that it take some time for them to get used to the unique keyboard design, but eventually they found it very easy and comfortable to use. The large touchpad which measures 3.1 x 1.6-inch, and the two dedicated right and left mouse buttons make it easy for users to navigate the desktop.
• Excellent battery life: The Toshiba NB205 comes with a standard six-cell 5800 mAh lithium ion battery which last for 8 hours plus on Laptop Magazine's and PC Mag's test, and 6 hours plus on CNet's video playback battery drain test.
• USB port charges device when system is off: the USB port on Toshiba NB205 is enabled with Toshiba’s Sleep-and-Charge technology, which provides power to connected devices when the system is off.
• Bundle with a good deal of useful software, including HDD Protection and Zoom Utility software, Bluetooth Stack (for easy Bluetooth setup), ConfigFree (for connecting to a network), and PC Health Monitor (for keeping the netbook running smoothly).
  

Bad:

• Bulky battery that sticks out at the back: While the standard six-cell battery provides an excellent battery life, it juts out from the back of the system making it looks less attractive.
• Weak speaker: The speakers that are hidden below the front edge of the system, were a bit weak compared with other netbooks. This is one of the major factors that Cnet lowered their rating on this this netbook. This problem can be solved though by plugging in a headset, as suggested by Laptop Magazine.
• Large display bezel: The almost one-inch thick bezel that surrounds the display makes the screen feel smaller than it should.
  

Conclusion:
Apparently, Toshiba has made quite a great deal of competitive analysis before coming up with the NB205 netbook. Besides having a killer design, the NB205 has everything we’d recommend in a netbook: ergonomic keyboard and touchpad, excellent battery life, and most importantly an affordable price that's according to the public's demand. The Posh pink Toshiba NB205 will definitely made it into our list of best pink netbooks!

Asus Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA To Ship in 5 Different Colors Including Pink in Italy

Asus Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA are the 2 latest 10-inch netbook models from Asus. Both models are under the "Seashell" product line, in which the design is said to be inspired by the Seashell which is extremely stylish, slim and lightweight. The Eee PC 1008HA is just 1-inch thick and weight 2.4 pounds but comes with a non-replacable battery, while the Eee PC 1005HA is 1.4-inches thick and 2.8 pounds heavy and is having a replacable battery.


Now the good news is that a few Italian blogs have reported that both of these models will be released in Italy in several colors, including Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, white, Black and Pink! However, there's no words on whether the pink and other color options will be coming to the U.S. yet. As of now, only the black and white color options are available in the U.S.


Both the Eee PC 1005HA and 1008HA are very stylishly designed, and having great performance and features. Hopefully Asus will made the pink version available in the U.S. They will be really great choices for those who have been waiting for the pink Eee PC 1000HE which did not make it to the U.S.
