Two New Pink Netbooks For Valentine's Day

Just in time for Valentine's day, two of the best netbook manufacturers, MSI and Samsung have announced new pink netbooks for this special day.

First, MSI will be releasing the Valentine Edition of its Wind U100 netbook. This model of netbook from MSI is already available in Romantic pink previously, but the Valentine Edition boasts a limited edition label, with a 6-cell battery, 160GB hard drive and a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor. MSI will be giving away 15 of these Valentine Edition Winds at http://www.msimobile.com/Valentine.aspx. All you need to do is upload a photo of you and your loved one to participate. If you are not one of the winners, you can still purchase it from MSI for $429.99.


MSI is not the only company that wants in on some Valentine’s day profits. After the announcement of Valentine Edition’s edition Wind U100, a new model of pink Samsung NC10 is also spotted to be available for pre-order on 2 UK online retailers: dabs.com and overclockers.co.uk. This new model of pink NC10, NP-NC10-KA04UK, will comes with 1.60GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB hard drive, a 6-cell battery, and of course a lovely pink color. Currently, it seems to be available in UK only.

Sony VAIO is always one of our favorite laptop brands due to its stylish design. The CS and SR models from Sony are available in Cosmopolitan pink and glossy pink respectively. The SR series have a 13.3-inch screen, up to 2.80GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 320GB hard drive and 4GB RAM, while the CS series comes with a 14.1-inch screen, up to 2.80GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 320GB hard drive and 4GB RAM. On pricing, the Sony VAIO CS will cost minimum $899.99 and the SR series have a starting price of $894.99. The review for Sony VAIO SR is available on notebookreview.com. For the CS series, there's no review available yet as it still new in the market, but it's unlikely that Sony will disappoint us with the machine's performance.

4. Asus Eee PC S101
Asus Eee PC S101 is a 10-inch netbook, and is one of the most stylish of its kind. With only 1.8 cm of thickness, the sleek and shiny S101 is definitely appealing to women of all ages. Specs wise, it comes with Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM, and up to 64GB SSD. Be sure to check out also the review for the pink Eee PC S101.

HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition Reviewed

The Vivienne Tam edition of HP Mini netbook is reviewed. The folks over at Chip Chick has got their hands on this stylish little netbook and published a great review together with several hands-on photos to let you have a closer look at the lovely netbook.


Overall, they are pretty impressed with the hot pink / fuschia coloring plus the
lovely peony design on the netbook lid, the comfortable keyboard design, and the great system performance. The only few drawbacks for this netbook is the webcam (too dark), the uncomfortable trackpad layout, and the price which is higher than average netbook.

Here's the conclusion of the review:

"Overall, we are quite taken with the HP VT edition. It’s a beauty to behold and luckily, its looks aren’t superficial since it also performs well. Granted the VT is no desktop replacement notebook by far, but
the good performance on the VT combined with its quality hardware make it a serious competitor in the Netbook marketplace. That said we do have a few minors gripes. Most notably is its underperforming webcam.

The VT Edition with a 60GB hard drive retails for $699 and includes 1 year accidental coverage as well as a 1 year warranty. Overall, the most challenging aspect ofthe VT is its $699 price tag, which makes it a highend, high cost netbook. Unfortunately, the same rule that applies in the fashion world, applies here - you’re gonna pay more for something that looks good - and hopefully makes you feel good too. Is it worth the $699 price tag? Any higher then that, and we’d say they were really pushing it. But if you can afford it, and looks are just important to you as substance, then the price tag wont bother you that much. Especially when you get oohs and ahhs from your friends while you sashes along with the VT edition under your arm. We’ll be taking the VT edition with us use to blog with at CES to and we look forward to spending more time with it, particularly to see how well the battery holds up. We’re sure well have even more to say after taking it to Vegas with us."

£99 Netbook That Fits In Your Handbag

Here's another pink netbook that will hit the market soon. According to Mail Online, Elonex, a small British computer manufacturer, will be releasing a new netbook model called the websurfer which cost only £99 this February.

"Forget lipsticks, purses and glittery key rings. Laptops could soon be the latest must-have in every girl’s handbag.

Elonex, a small British computer maker, will start selling its £99 ‘netbooks’ - part of a new generation of small and cheap laptops from February.

The move is in an attempt to win over a new generation of female shoppers by making laptop computers that are small enough to fit into a handbag.

The screens are just seven inches wide, the keyboard is slightly smaller than a normal laptop keyboard.

The memory is very limited, however the new net books offer internet surfing, emailing, word processing, storing photographs."

Boasting of attractive designs and colors, HP's new line of designer mouse is definitely appealing to women. The colors available includes pink, red, white, purple, and blue. We of course love the pink design the most.

Lenovo S10 Netbook to Add Facial Recognition and Multi-Touch Trackpad

Lenovo recently announced that they will be upgrading the Ideapad S10 netbook with several exciting new features, which includes:

• Increase of screen size from 10-inches to 10.2-inches
• Lenovo VeriFace technology which is a cool facial recognition system
  
• Multi-touch trackpad
• LenovoSocial, a preloaded portal on the S10, which makes it easier to connect to your friends on various social networks.
• Lenovo Quick Start which allows you to access frequently used apps faster

The upgraded Lenovo S10 will be available some time in March 2009, with a price tag of $349. The color options will include pink, white, red, blue, and black.

Pink Asus Eee PC S101 Unboxed

While the Asus Eee PC S101 pink version is currently available only in Japan and Taiwan, Pixiestash has ordered a unit of the pink S101 from Taiwan through Ebay, and posted the first impression together with some pictures on the blog.

"My first impression is that the S101 is a class act all the way. The box is matte black with a subtle “Eee PC” embossed in silver. A far cry from my Blush Pink 701 from last February, the S101 has an equivalent-sized body but a 3″ larger screen. Its SSD hard drive is 3 times larger and the battery life is more than double. But the real difference is in the fit and finish - my 701 looked like a Hello Kitty toy, but the pink S101 is sleek, shiny, and all grown up. The metal parts are not chrome but understated gunmetal, and the crystals embedded in either end of the hinge are subtly sparkly. The keyboard is unfortunately not pink, but the palm rest and multitouch trackpad are brushed metal and color-matched to the pink cover. Even the case is classier than the 701’s, in brown, padded ultrasuede with matching drawstring bag for the cable and power brick."

A Matching Mouse for HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition

If you own a Vivienne Tam Edition HP Mini 1000 netbook, you may find it difficult to look for a similarly stylish mouse to match with your netbook. Your problem will soon be solved with the release of the Vivienne Tam Edition Wireless mouse.

Comes with a micro USB receiver and two batteries, the Vivienne Tam edition mouse is nothing more than a HP wireless optical mouse with Vivienne Tam design on it. But if you are getting the Vivienne Tam Edition netbook then you are probably all about style, so you might as well get complete package.

BenQ Joybook Lite U101 Reviewed

Still remember the Joybook Lite U101 from BenQ which comes with a unique emoticon design on the lid? It's one of the many netbook that's available in pink and was made available in Taiwan a while back. While the netbook is yet to be released in the U.S., Laptop Magazine has ordered a unit of Joybook Lite U101 from Taiwan, and published a review on this machine.


Their review unit comes with the following spec:

• 1.6-GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor
• 1.5/2GB expanable RAM
• 160GB/5,400 rpm HDD
• 10.1-inch display with 1024 x 576 resolution
• Windows XP Home

Given a rating of 2.5 out of 5, the BenQ Joybook Lite U101 was found to be having the same poorly placed right shift key that many other netbooks have. The poor battery life is another complains that the netbook gets from the review. On the good side, the Joybook Lite U101 is complimented for its unique lid design, compact build, bright & glossy display, and loud speakers.

Overall, we can say that the performance and features for the BenQ Joybook Lite U101 is just average. But what we like about this netbook is the unique cute emoticon design, and it has pink color available!

Sony to Release P Series Netbook

Sony is finally planning to release a netbook of its own. The netbook from the Sony VAIO brand will be categorized under a new product line called the P-series.


The P-series VAIO netbook will have an 8-inch LED backlit with a resolution of 1600 x 768, according to the previous leaked information from SonyStyle.com (the product page has been removed now). Will the new Sony netbook avaialble in pink? We won't know until the official product release on 09-Jan in the CES 09 event. But looking at most of other Sony VAIO laptop models, it's highly possible Sony will make the P-series netbook to be available in pink!
